Vivek manages projects related to ecosystem services, sustainable agriculture and water management for the Sustainable Natural Resources Management program and the Water Innovation Centre. He is contributing to a broad range of multi-disciplinary initiatives spanning from the establishment of a World Heritage Site to devising tools for ecological infrastructure investments. He is also developing projects related to decision support systems for sustainable watershed management and linking indigenous peoples with carbon markets.
He has a wide range of experiences in the environmental and sustainable development field which includes: environmental representative for a manufacturing operation; laboratory technician and supervisor for stratospheric ozone, air quality and greenhouse gas monitoring laboratories; project assistant for wastewater/stormwater quality monitoring and improvement initiatives; consultant for wind energy development projects. His interests include computer modeling, water resources management, renewable energies, air pollution and climate change.
Vivek has carried out research projects and worked in various parts of Canada, the High Arctic, Mali, Madagascar and New Zealand.
